This year's game was a big success. The North beat the South, 24 - 17. Read the Mercury News article about the game. The Almaden Valley Rotary Club was proud to present the Annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game, the Silicon Valley Youth Classic. This year was our 27th year of honoring graduating senior high school football players. The game was Wednesday, July 25th at Independence High School. Congratulations to the Head Football COACHES, Ken Padia of Leigh High School for the North; and Eric Luescher of Silver Creek High School for the South. The coaches were responsible for selecting their players and conducting their practices and the game. All the coaches and players were honored at the banquet on Monday, May 14th. Bob Bronstein was the emcee and Lucy Wedemeyer was the featured speaker. The pictures taken at the banquet were used for the game program and are also uploaded onto each of the player's webpage. The player information is on the South and the North Rosters. And the rosters have a link to each player's biographical information. Player's, check out your web page. Charlie Wedemeyer has been an inspirational representative and has been a part of the Santa Clara County All-Star Football since ..... Read all about his story. |
