PALO ALTO ALL-STARS TO REPRESENT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL IN THE SILICON VALLEY YOUTH CLASSIC

NICK GOODSPEED, TRENTON HART, AND JOHN STIRRAT HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO PLAY IN THE 33RD ANNUAL CHARLIE WEDEMEYER HIGH SCHOOL ALL-STAR FOOTBALL GAME

(San Jose, CA- June 27, 2007) Class of 2007 alumni, Nick Goodspeed, Trenton Hart, and John Stirrat have been selected to represent Palo Alto High School in the 33rd Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game at Spartan Stadium in San Jose on Wednesday, July 18th at 7:30pm. Goodspeed, Hart, and Stirrat will play for the North and be coached by Jell Mueller from Monta Vista High School. The North and South have battled 32 previous times with the South holding a 17 to 14 advantage in wins.

Nick Goodspeed, is a 6-2, 175 pound Quarterback. During the season The Mercury News and the Palo Alto Daily News recognized him as athlete of the week. Following the Daily News voted him First Team All Peninsula. Both his junior and senior years Goodspeed was also the First Team All League Quarterback. He will be attending Choate Rosemary Hall, CT in the fall.

    “Goodspeed is a clutch passer with great instincts,” said coach Mueller

Trenton Hart, is a 5-11, 190 pound Defensive Back. Hart was acknowledged this past year as First Teams All League Defensive Back, and received honorable mentions by the Mercury News. He will be attending the College of San Mateo in the fall.

    “Hart is one of the best corners in the CCS,” said coach Muller

John Stirrat, is a 6-0,185 pound Offensive Lineman. Stirrat received the team’s coach award both his sophomore and senior year. This past season Stirrat was named Offensive Lineman First Team All League. He will be attending California State Chico in the fall.

Tickets for the 33rd Annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game are $15 and can be purchased at The Almaden Barber Stylist, located on Almaden Expressway, as well as at Old Republic Title Locations within the surrounding San Jose Area. Tickets will also be sold at the gates on game day. All proceeds from the game will benefit the Charlie Wedemeyer Family Outreach Program, as well all other local charities sponsored by the Almaden Valley Rotary Club.
