Coach Mike Mitchell realized how valuable Morales was when he was unable to play against Bellarmine and the Lancers lost. "When things didn't go right, he was always there to calm things down." Mitchell said of his captain. Morales was best known for his relentless approach, going sideline to sideline to make plays. He was the team's leading tackler and blocked several punts.
