Mercury News Comments:
Smith played left tackle on a team that rushed for 3,048 yards, most of it on his side. The Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division's outstanding offensive lineman, Smith also provided the Wildcats with a "tremendous pass rush," at defensive tackle, Butch Cattolico said, reminding the coach of Jared Allen, an ex-Wildcat now with the Kansas City Chiefs. "I still think his best football is ahead of him," Cattolico said.
