Mercury News Comments:
Quick and tenacious, Alvarez was the Warriors' most active player on a defense that shut down some of the section's most prolific offenses. Alvarez had 101 tackles, seven sacks and two interceptions in 11 games. Included were 33 tackles and three sacks in the playoffs. Defensive coordinator Eric Scharrenberg calls him "the best defensive player in the section."
