With the complex blitzes Gilroy's spread offense faced, Rodriguez was rsponsible for reading the linebackers and sliding over to block the correct man. Coach Hammond said Rodriguez made the wrong read only once all season. His value became clear when he left the CCS final in the first quarter with an injury and Gilroy's pass protection broke down thereafter.
