Winkelman provided two lasting images that best illustrate the type of player he is. The first came in the opening round of the playoffs when Winkelman delivered a crushing blow to the Palma quarterback, knocking the ball loose to preserve the victory. A week later, he made a similar hit against Gilroy, picking up the ball and running 67 yards for a score.
