The defensive player of the year in the PAL Ocean 'A' Division, Johnson racked up 17 sacks and 101 tackles. He also played fullback, averaging more than 9 yards per carry and rushing for 593 yards and 12 touchdowns. The two-time All-Mercury News selectiion is taking recruiting trips to San Jose State, UC-Davis and Sacramento State.
2007
Not many can bench-press 300 pounds and run a 5:45 mile, but Johnson can. He combined that athletic ability with relentless effort to register 21 sacks this season, the third-highest in the state, and had 139 tackles. Johnson had a combined six sacks in two North Coast Section Class A playoff games, and seven multi-sack games.
