Martinez was a top player and leader for a Pioneer team that ran the table to win the Mount Hamilton Division title with a 10-0 record. A versatile player who doubled as a linebacker and tight end, Martinez had 86 tackles and also intercepted three passes, returning one for a touchdown. He also caught 15 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns.
